Cheslie’s maid of honor was her sister Lauren Kryst and Michael’s best man was his brother Matthew Husband.The newlyweds met while attending law school at Wake Forest University and they started dating in 2016. Cheslie Kryst, a former Miss USA and Miss Universe contestant, took her own life on May 23. The 28-year-old lawyer and model was found dead in her Charlotte, North Carolina home. Her death was ruled a suicide by the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner’s office.
Kryst was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and graduated from Stanford Law School. She worked as an attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in Charlotte. Kryst also modeling part-time and competed in the Miss USA pageant in 2019, representing her home state of North Carolina.
